Not so long ago . . . | Then she said . . .

Dark Lu

My baby is getting older *sniffle*  Thankfully though, the only problem he's acquired over the past year is irrevocably floppy joints -_-  Which would be why his head keeps flopping to the left, but I guess that tilt suits my arrogant little brat.

We drove up to a place called Cone's Manor for his birthday.  It's a gorgeous old mansion, atop a little knoll, overlooking a beautiful lake.  A lot of scenes from The Green Mile were filmed there.  I've always loved going there, ever since I was tiny.  I've always felt nice and at home.  My great-grandfather worked as a stable boy there for the Cones, who had no children.  They took a liking to my grandpa and even wanted to adopt him, but of course since he wasn't an orphan, that didn't fly and I'm sure his parents were pretty offended by the proposal.  But at least now the house is open to the public, and isn't heavily gaurded so you can really make yourself at home there.  It's near the estate I based Lucien's home on, too ^_-

We had a good time taking pictures- hardly anyone was there, so we basically had free reign of the place.

Warning:  Some pictures are fairly huuuuge.  It's his birthday, and I like big ole' pictures, so I'm posting really big uns' for once :P

lovely photos\! I should try harder to get out and take some myself. My girl's bday is coming up too.. maybe I will take her apart, clean her and give her a new faceup for her B-day? Spa treatment as some call it :D

My boy is in definite need of a "Spa treatment." I just lack the guts to take him apart and do what needs to be done. I think it would be a nice b-day gift for your girl though- my attempts at it would just end in disaster.

Thanks! It was a romantic place. I want to take Lucien and Aurora back for photos together ^_-

And my birthday isn't until March (this was just for Lucien's)

Happy Birthday, Lucy! I remember meeting him at JoAnns when he was fairly new. So lovely!

For his joints, have you tried hot glue sueding his neck? And for a floppy torso, maybe you could fashion an extra piece to go on his lower body part like the extra Kid Delf piece that has a smaller hole for the elastic to run through and is high enough in the torso that the upper body can't flop over.

That looks like a lovely place to go... I can just image it with snow. X3

I think I'm going to try the silicone seuding method on him, except with hot glue instead of silicone caulk (the chemicals in that are lethal, and it doesn't stick to the tape after all the effort it takes). I've had thoughts of just permanently gluing his torso together, too.

Cone's manor really is lovely in the winter- just scary to get to because they don't scrape the road it's on ;_;
