Air Weebie!

I was thinking, it has been way too long since I shared a bit of the daily hilarity Weebie provides me with! XD  Yes, Weebie is living with me in Savannah now.  We figured he wouldn't like being cooped up in the small space, so we just tried it for two weeks, and it turns out he really seems to love it here!  All my neighbors moved out and I live all alone back here in the carriage house, so it's nice to have him around.

Last night my friend Ian tied his catnip toy to a riding crop I had lying around and after getting good and 'nipped up, Weebie decided to perform some acrobatics:

Weebie the Almighty gazes down upon thee and sees your misdeeds!

Oh, also, he is making evolutionary progress with those thumbs of his.  A few days ago I looked over to find him sitting on my kitchen island with my keys clutched between his thumb and ....forefinger/claw? dangling them in front of his face o_O

And a cute one, for the heck of it, even though he's still pulling a lolcat face:

Hehe, I was lucky to get the shots I did! He is shedding like CRAZY right now though- not much fun to pet! A cloud of fur surrounds me when I pick him up ;_;

I admit that every time you post photos of Weebie I consider again whether or not my cat would murder me, my roommate, or the kitten I suddenly and intensely want to get that's his kind.

hehe! I love being an enabler. His breed is called the Highlander/Highland Lynx. He's about 30% wild blood and they have very interactive, dog-like personalities. I highly recommend them :D

i did some research on the breed, and omg i have to get one! my cat back at home in baltimore has so many of the traits attributed to this breed, so i'd totally be able to handle one of these guys.

it seems as if there are still only a few folks breeding them. how did you get yours? how much was he? my family has never paid for one our cats; it's hard to wrap my head around the concept. :P

Yeah, they are a relatively new breed. Lucky for me, the man who originally bred them lives about 2 hours from my house in NC, so I was able to just drive and pick Weebie up :) He set me back $600, and I do feel guilty for buying a cat when there are so many homeless ones out there, but he's really such a special and unique creature. They usually run about $400-800 depending on their features, etc. But they are very rewarding little companions to have around! If you really decide to get one and have other questions I'll be happy to answer them :D

oh i am definitely set on getting one (i'll pretend it's a doll purchase). it'd be like having a new and improved version of sass (my cat, sorry buddy). it's just a matter of seeing an increase in my salary. i could afford one now, but coming up with the dough for emergency vet visits is something i wouldn't be able to do. i have a friend who just dropped $500 for his cat's mystery illness. oi.
